Joystick was assigned to the Sunflower five years ago with a glowing recommendation and a name nobody has ever managed to hear in full. Every time he tries to introduce himself properly, something explodes, someone interrupts, or Alpine walks off.
He is the best pilot anyone has ever underestimated: loyal to the bone, earnest to a fault and devoted to his captain with a hero worship he doesn’t bother to hide. He wears the same red cloth and battered sneakers as Alpine. He would deny that’s on purpose.
He quotes his mama constantly. Mama has an opinion on everything, and Joystick has memorized all of them.
